with TS-Gustav heading into the Gulf and TS-Hanna moving towards the Bahamas, fun is on the way...  this weekend should bring some big waves for both Florida coasts...

Waves spawned by Hurricane Gustav were chopppy and averaged 4'-8' both from Fri. the 29th into Sat. the 30th. The beach and parking areas were jammed packed with surfers, boarders, and wave riders. The skies were mostly cloudy with intermittent showers which only made it more comfortable to stay and play for hours. It took a couple of days to unload all the sand and shells deposited in our suits!

Swells from Hurricane Ike are bringing in sweet 3'-8'waves on Wed. the 10th. A fair number of surfers were out riding, mostly off of the right breakwater where waves were curling out in front of it, as they did during Gustav's visit. D and I stayed around the middle breakwater where the rides were smooth and fun. Wave hieghts averaged 4'-5' there. We must have made the rides look good as the next thing we knew, the surfers had to play in our spot too. On our way to play again today.
